The LBC Hero Squad celebrates differences and feels everyone is a hero

Vision

A city-wide culture of kindness and acceptance, celebrating differences of all children.

Mission

To provide awareness, education, and advance acceptance, kindness, and inclusion of neurodivergent youth.

History

The LBC Hero Squad is a nonprofit organization led by passionate parents with the mission of bringing inclusion, acceptance, and kindness to neurodivergent youth. LBC Hero Squad’s annual Autism Awareness Week was born at Cubberley K-8 in 2016 with the help of our small but mighty group of parents and school staff. We have since inspired other schools in the Long Beach Unified School District to join the celebration of neurodiversity and branched out into hosting community events in Long Beach. With your help, we can raise funds for students in special day and general education classes to participate in extracurricular activities during our Autism Week, ADHD Day, and Mental Health Day at LBUSD schools. Your support will also aid us in supplying families with resources, providing educational and sensory materials to schools, and creating exciting events that celebrate our differences and promote the inclusion of all.We believe everyone is a hero and we’re so excited about what we can do together. We hope you’ll join our Squad in uplifting neurodiverse youth and building an inclusive community.
LBC Hero Squad is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. EIN 86-1697137.
